Dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never get hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, Live like it's heaven on earth, And speak from the heart to be heard. ~ William W. Purkey

Bon Jourrrrrrr!!

Hey people! I`m blogging now from Chateau Belevue in Quebec City, north-ish of Canada where everyone speaks French & very little English. It`s 1.30am and the weather outside is about -10 degrees! *dies*

The past 1 week has seen me eating loads and loads of bread, butter, cakes, pies, ham, meat, milk and more bread. So far, this is the coldest city I`ve been in since Guelph, Toronto and Ottawa. Weather in Canada is alright as long as the wind doesnt blow. When the wind blows, its bites... and it bites hard.

Had a slight adventure in Ottawa earlier today where we apparently tried to use a counterfeit 50 dollar note at a store. Yes, the police were called in and they determined that the note was pretty old (1988) and that we were silly ignorant tourists who didnt know any better than to carry around large denominations- counterfeiting is so rampant here that people hardly use 50 or 100 dollar notes anymore. Oh well, as long as we arent in jail :P A harrowing experience indeed!

Alrighty, gotta go sleep now! Will update again soon! Merci! :)

ps: There`s a Malaysian restaurant in Ottawa called Chahaya Malaysia... and its pretty spicy and pricy!

Is extreme sports worth it?

I was telling my mum about a friend who lost a tendon in his knee from a motor cross accident. He had to walk with a tongkat for many months and still has trouble bending his knee now after a whole year. My mum said that some people like him don't think, and purposely put themselves in dangerous situations (e.g. sky diving, racing, etc).

"But isn't that called passion?" I argued. "Doing something you love?"

Not really, she said. They only think its passion.

But I disagree!!

Isn't being passionate about something really something you want to do? You'd obviously know about the risks involved, unless of course you go into it blindly. Right, right? So I asked, "Don't people get injured even when they are walking down the street?"

Yes, she said.

Ah hah! My point exactly. Why get into an accident for no reason, when you can get injured doing something you liked? Ok, that didn’t sound right, but you know what I’m getting at (at least you can say its wounds of 'war' :P) Might as well sit at home collecting buttons & not go out at all.

Her conclusion? Do whatever you want, but be CAREFUL. Don't become a burden to other people when you DO get injured. Injuries cost money and you might not enjoy having to rely on other people if you do become disabled.

Hmm... mother's always have a point, don't they? :)

Wah. Many things going wrong with the blog.

1. I'm not allowed to image link from angelfire.com anymore &
2. My tag board has deleted all recent comments.

Weird.

Anyway, Mother's Day weekend was a whirlwind of activity. Rehersals, classes, makan & hot HOT weather. Worse still is now I have some sort of skin allergy after having Thai food from a new restaurant. Arrrr...

Happy Tuesday y'all! :)

00Ok, so this is a delayed post from last week, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it :)

How I made a cheesecake...

- Cheese, sugar, butter mix.
- Biscuit base & coffee liquer :9
- Meringue- egg & sugar beaten together til light & stiff (if you turn it upside down, it should not spill out)

- Meringue in the batter. Looks gross eh?
- Melted cooking chocolate (add oil for that shiny look)
- Melted choc on biscuit base for that extra zest!

- Into the baking pan the batter goes!
- Making patterns at the top of the cake.
- Baking in what we call a water bath.

TADA!!
