Dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never get hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, Live like it's heaven on earth, And speak from the heart to be heard. ~ William W. Purkey

Feelin' a little melancholy

Other Side Of The World - KT Tunstall

Over the sea and far away
She's waiting like an iceberg
Waiting to change
But she's cold inside
She wants to be like the water

All the muscles tighten in her face
Buries her soul in one embrace
They're one and the same
Just like water

And the fire fades away
Most of everyday
Is full of tired excuses
But it's too hard to say
I wish it were simple
But we give up easily
You're close enough to see that
You're on the other side of the world to me

On comes the panic light
Holding on with fingers and feelings alike
But the time has come
To move along

And the fire fades away
Most of everyday
Is full of tired excuses
But it's too hard to say
I wish it were simple
But we give up easily
You're close enough to see that
You're on the other side of the world

Can you help me
Can you let me go
And can you still love me
When you can't see me anymore

And the fire fades away
Most of everyday
Is full of tired excuses
But it's too hard to say
I wish it were simple
But we give up easily
You're close enough to see that
You're on the other side of the world
On the other side of the world
You're on the other side of the world to me

Doesn't this song make you a little sad?

Holiday

My company's making everyone take compulsory leave next Monday before the Raya hols.

Why?!?

Either way, I have tons of work to do, which means I have to come back to the office sometime during the festive break.

I. WILL. SURVIVE.

Someone kill me. Please.

The production of the company annual report is in its final month before proceeding for printing and something had to go wrong NOW.

We found out that we may not be able to send out abridged version (versus fully printed versions) without prior consensus from shareholders. This means we can only consider abridged versions in the next financial year. With this in mind, we need more time for printing, revising of the schedule and more $$$ for extra printing costs incurred - which we have to get approval from the Exco members before proceeding.

Easy to point fingers at certain parties, but... we got to be professional & responsible since we are the ones in charge... right?

Sighhh. Let's see what the boss says tomorrow.

Argh

My good week has been shattered, slightly, by this nagging dull pain in my lower back.

It started after class last night, and gets worse when I stand up after sitting down for long periods of time. I can't really bend over or make sudden movements. This is reminiscent of my back injury back in 2002, though not as bad, thank goodness.

Lets hope it goes away soon.

Crap!

It's been a good week.

I'm happy :)

Happy weekend peeps!

It's such a peculiar feeling.

Everyone's growing up. My sis is checking out engagement rings and is contemplating buying a house she's been looking at. My dad officially retired last Friday. My mum's going to retire next March. My bro's looking at roughly 2 more years before he graduates. I'm looking to buying a car and paying off my study loans. Gosh.

It suddenly dawned upon me that I'm going to truly be out on my own one day, without my parents support. Scarieeeee.

On another note, we (my colleague & I) had a talk with our boss last week. We discussed some work issues we were having and how we were super swamped with work. Luckily, he took it well and explained to us certain issues on his side - why he couldn't oversee us as much as he wanted, or why he doesn't reply our sms' (he says he forgets sometimes).

Such a relief when you know your boss doesn't really hate you, just that he's a tad bit unfamiliar & not hands-on with the kind of work you do, thus not wanting to dabble too much into your department's work flow. If he says he's ok with leaving us being independent, I guess that's a good thing... right?

To Risk

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool,
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach out to another is to risk involvement,
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self
To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss
To love is to risk not being loved in return,
To hope is to risk despair,
To try is to risk to failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow,
But he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or live.
Chained by his servitude he is a slave who has forfeited all freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.
The pessimist complains about the wind;
The optimist expects it to change;
And the realist adjusts the sails.
