Spongebob loses square pants!

As you can tell, Sponge Bob aint quite spongey enough to escape from Daniel's BLUE NET OF DEATH!! (Death! Death!) Mwahahahahahahhaa!!
(I didn't know he wore underwear. Then again, I don't have the Cartoon Channel at home. Sigh... :P )

Us at Daniel's housewarming on Sunday.

On another note, my kitchen has recently been bugged by a small, furry scoundrel called a rat. It has so far, committed a heineous act of breaking 2 very precious (and expensive) porcelein mugs by knocking it off the shelf. Look at what it has done now!

Off with it's head!
(it's a giraffe's head from a toothpick holder & part of a cow salt & pepper shaker set)

Ouch 2

Remember THIS post?

My mouth ulcer, like a parasite, has spread it ugly wings of pain and doom has progressed- not only is it bigger, I now have a ulcer on my gum followed by a sore tongue & mouth palate.

Eating never seemed so hard :(

Etiquette training anyone?

Two posts in a day. Amazing! :P

Anyway, I was in a bit of a bad mood this morning (partly from a mouth ulcer, mostly because of inconsiderate LRT passengers & the Rapid KL management)

Yes, inconsiderate & rude. All of them!!

If you travel on an LRT during peak hours, you'd know that unless you get on the train at the first stop, there's relatively no chance of you getting a seat. This isn't a problem, as long as you have something to hold on to during the journey to avoid falling over on the jerky ride.

I get frustrated sometimes, when passengers, instead of holding on to the railings / bars, they lean on it!

What made it worse this morning was the fact that this guy not only leaned on the railing, he practically squashed my hands doing so many times! (Even the other lady holding on was not spared) He continued to lean (even after I roughly pulled my hands out) when he decided to reach out to grab the railings with both his hands (in the process leaning on me with his massive frame, again) when I already had no space to move.

Next was the fact that having a Touch&Go card sucks. They suck because half the time, there's no point in having one. Either the card reader doesn't work / you can't see what's on the blur screen or there's only one freakin' T&G lane at busy places like KLCC!

What's the point of having a supposedly "faster" lane, when there's only ONE lane??

The personnel there didn't even want to check my card when it didn't let me through. The lady had a scowl on her face & told me to just go through the manual ticket lane.

In the end, I think I managed to travel for free for 2 days.

Grrr. Snort. Gaarrrrrr. Baahhhh. Growl.

Taller buildings. Cleaner toilets. Better roads. And sub-standard social etiquette.

Malaysia Boleh konon!

Ouch

Please don't mind me if I don't smile at you. Or the fact that I seem to be in a perpetual grimace. It's hard to get over the feeling that your mouth seems to be tearing apart, y'know? o_O

Yes, I have a dastardly mouth ulcer. Arrrghhh.

Anyone know a good cure for mouth ulcers? (no, Bonjela doesn't work for me)

On another note, Shrek 3 is good! ;) Go watch it for a good laugh.

Just one of those days

I went to capoeira training on Monday night, mostly because some ex-colleagues of mine wanted to check out the class. Lo and behold, I was the only senior there (other than Rafael) who was training, and thus, I was asked to lead the pack of newbies.

Now, I wouldn't have minded much, except that it was a Monday (!!!) and that we did circuit training which is bad news.

Bad news because I know for a fact my stamina sucks big time. I don't do long distance. I'm more of a sprinter, y'know? And when you lead a class, you gotta KNOW what you are doing and do it well.

All in all, it's like work. Being in a senior position, you gotta know your stuff. Can you imagine your junior beating you up? (well, not literally I hope). There's a constant need for you to keep your game up and to make sure that you don't get stuck in a rut.

Reality checcckkkk!

I’m so tired

Working in KL has its perks. Working in KL also has its downsides.

Numero uno: There’s so much more travelling to be done. I haven’t felt this tired in so long! Not having a seat on the LRT is fine. But it’s tedious having to keep yourself from falling over and avoid tripping over other people’s feet / hands / bags. I feel like I’m in a constantly "cramping".

Numero dua: I hate it when people lean on the handlebars. Don’t they know there’s a hundred million other people who need to hold on to it for support in the crowded train? I shall refrain from being rude here >:

Numero tres: I have to seriously think about wearing sneakers / slippers / aunty Scholl sandals on my way to work. Can’t be doing this much walking in heels. Made this mistake yesterday. My bad.

Numero shi: Spending a whole lot more on food. A lot of shopping (possibly) when sales starts. There’s an Isetan member sale tomorrow. No!

Anyway, am looking forward to the weekend… or maybe not? Plans for Saturday: Capoeira performance for McD’s in the morning at Berjaya Times Square (maybe), Urban Groove dance party in the afternoon and then roda in Bangsar. Think I’m so going to DIE regret this... :P

Notes on new office

1. Much more lively than previous office (everyone yells at each other over the cubicles... haha!)
2. Phone rings less often
3. Office is smaller, but cosier (less space = less rubbish accumulated... I hope)
4. There's no sink in the pantry
5. There's a Nescafe coffee machine in the pantry, but it doesn't work! :(
6. Taking the LRT to work is tiring cause I stand all the way
7. I'm using Michelle's ergonomnic keyboard which is taking some getting used to.
8. I've discovered an online chat programme which works! >:)
9. Lunch time is quite flexible
10. KLCC is really nearby!

Heh. 3rd day at the new job and I'm still getting used to things - especially reading fund reports which I've never voluntarily done before... it's like learning a new language!

Overall, work has started off ok :)

Endings

It's Labour Day and I'm taking the opportunity of a quiet office to pack my stuff. I'm almost done cleaning out my desk and am pondering at the amazing fact on how much stuff one can collect over a period of almost 5 years!

Thursday will be my official last day at work here and though I'm looking forward to the prospect of a new job, I'm actually feeling kinda sad on leaving this place.

Good friends, good mentors and most of all, good memories.

I'm going to miss this place...
