Dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never get hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, Live like it's heaven on earth, And speak from the heart to be heard. ~ William W. Purkey

Saturday - 21st June 2003 - 6pm-ish

As from previous experience, you'd think that a Talentime show would be a fun filled, casual affair. Note: Casual. When Kalamari & I arrived at TAR College's new hall to watch his brother perform, we were greeted by girls in formal dresses with 3 inch heels and guys in suits.

Erm, okaaay. Were we at the wrong hall?? Apparently not.

If you have watched Astro's Talent Quest, you'd understand what I mean. It was an Ah Beng & Ah Lian festival of sorts! Ok, so not all of them looked bad, but some of them went waaayyy overboard. Let's just say 1/2 the guys there had bigger hair than the girls. Tight pants and big sparkly hair do not match. I repeat: Tight pants and big hair do NOT match. Especially on guys. XP

Performances ranged from good to mediocre to bad. The bad performances were mostly guest students who didn't know the difference between dancing and being a walking zombie (and they tried to do a jive/latin number!) A girl group danced to Uglylala's "Dirrty" song which in the end, looked more like a soft porn dance video. *cough cough* Oh, singing competitors should be limited to singing songs in their native language. "When ai farl in lup, it will be four ewer.....!"

Oh, their names were a riot too. Try Christiannus Fong. How about Wyzek? Hmm...

All in all, it was a very amusing night. Congrats to Kalamari's brother Ah Boon (heheh) & his group "Evo I" for winning the group dance category as well as Overall Champion trophy. Hoo hah hah!
