Performing in front of a crowd is one thing, but speaking in front of around a 1000 people is quite nerve wrecking.
We only got our emcee scripts yesterday morning and had a 3 hour rehersal at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Grand Ballroom. At 2pm, I ran to Sunway Pyramid to get a pair of earrings to go with my dress, rushed home to pack my stuff, rushed to the salon to get my hair and make-up done at 3.30pm and back to the hotel to change before last minute practice.
By this time, it was already 6pm. Another 6 hours to go before I was able to go home =___=
Things started out ok, except that I made the mistake of looking at the spot lights. Momentarily blinded, I lost sight of my script in the middle of the introduction. Damn! There were little hiccups here and there (as usual) but the funny thing was that the opening gambit didn't go off on time. My CEO had to stand on stage waiting for something to happen. Let's blame the event organisers!
We were finally done at 12.30am. I barely ate the whole day and my legs felt like jelly. I finally got home and slept around 2am. ZzzZz...
More emcee-ing next year? It's nice dressing up and all but... well, let me think bout it first ;)
ps: Photos to come!
